The Remote Vocational Training Scheme (RVTS) is a vocational training program available to isolated doctors, who under ordinary circumstances, could not complete vocational training except by leaving their communities. The program offers training towards Fellowship of the RACGP and ACRRM and by extension enables Vocational Recognition (VR) with Medicare Australia.
The FRACGP and FACRRM are the vocational fellowships of the respective colleges. They are accredited by the Australian Medical Council in the specialty of general practice, and qualify the graduate for unsupervised general practice anywhere in Australia. RVTS is responsible for ensuring that the RVTS program syllabus delivers the curricula of the RACGP and ACRRM.
