  • RVTS is a vocational training program for medical practitioners in remote and isolated communities throughout rural and remote Australia.

Clinical Teaching Visits provide an opportunity to observe registrars working in their practices.
These visits are particularly important for RVTS registrars working in solo or isolated practices who cannot access feedback from practice colleagues.

To be considered eligible, applicants must:

    • Hold Fellowship with either the RACGP (FRACGP) and/or ACRRM (FACRRM)
    • Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a General Practitioner, including preferably at least two (2) years of post-fellowship practice in Australia
    • Hold current, unconditional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
    • Maintain current medical indemnity insurance
    • Be recognised by peers as an excellent clinician, supported by a verbal recommendation from a known peer or medical educator
    • Demonstrate a genuine interest in medical education, evidenced through relevant experience listed in their CV or confirmed by a professional referee

If you are interested in being considered as a CT visitor, please complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form below.

  • RVTS Registrars work in rural and remote locations or in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and are matched with a supervisor for the duration of their training.

    The supervisor should:

    • Be unconditionally registered with AHPRA
    • Be a Fellow of ACRRM or RACGP
    • Have experience in rural and remote general practice for registrars in the Remote Stream or experience in Aboriginal Health for the AMS Stream
    • Have past or present experience in supervising/mentoring
    • Have a current ALS certificate
    • Have appropriate medical indemnity cover, and
    • Not have a conflict of interest (e.g., personal interest in registrar’s training location).

It is preferable, but not mandatory, that the supervisor practises in the same region and state as the registrar.

RVTS supervisors cannot have more than two registrars to ensure they are available to undertake all registrar training activities.

If you are interested in being considered as a Supervisor, please complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form below.
